Daughmer Savannah

I love trees; big surprise to anyone that looks at my Hocking Hills or Infrared portfolios, I know. After years of framing up trees and their unique forms, I'm still attracted to them. As professor Jeff used to say, "Frickin' Trees", I can't get enough. All of that said, it only took about two seconds of reading the description for Daughmer Savannah to know I needed to pay it a visit

Located in Crawford County, Daughmer Savannah represents the type of large oak prairie that made up the Sandusky Plains. What once covered three entire counties in Ohio has been reduced to this preserve and a handful of other small properties. It is surrounded by the typical, flat fields that make up most of Northwest Ohio, but hearkens back to a time before these lands were settled.
